Where: This class is held at our KudoClay Studio, 4/11 Homersham Place, Burnside, Christchurch.
About the class: In this class, we start exploring more of what is possible with Clay. In the beginner class, we focused on construction and joining methods. In this next stage we will be expanding on this plus, learning more about form, function and appropriate surface treatments for the type of objects you will be making.
You will tailor each project to your own specific style, aesthetic and need, while continuing to build on the techniques and skills you already have and introducing new ones.
You can work to a given brief, for example making a tea bowl set, which may run over a week or two. Within a given brief, there will be opportunity for self-directed input. The theme running alongside all projects will be what is needed to be able to work from a home studio. Please note that clay, glazing, and firings are not included in the enrolment fee for this class.
Prerequisites
Minimum of one term of a beginner class or some basic pottery experience.
